Companies included in Facebook's Preferred Marketing Developer program have raised a total of $915.17 million in publicly disclosed funding, with nearly one-half of that amount going to advertising application-programming-interface vendors, according to research from "decision support system" AlphaBoost. Report: Facebook Prepping Messenger For Ipad

Facebook is developing a stand-alone version of its Messenger application for Apple's iPad tablet, according to reports. 9to5Mac reported that the early beta version of Messenger for the iPad is virtually identical to the social network's iPhone app, with features including one-to-one messaging, group chat, push notifications, and pinpointing friends' locations on a map. Facebook Touts Mobile App Growth

Traffic directed to mobile applications by Facebook is soaring, reaching more than 160 million visitors and 1.1 billion visits in April, up from 60 million and 320 million, respectively, in February.
