Check The Privacyscore Of Facebook Apps
PrivacyChoice debuted a Facebook application that allows users to gauge the privacy risks of other Facebook apps, joining the company's browser add-on, which performs the same task for websites. The Privacyscore Facebook app assigns a rating of 1 to 100 to other Facebook apps, with 100 representing privacy perfection. Facebook Acquires 650 AOL Patents From Microsoft
Facebook reached an agreement with Microsoft to acquire about 650 of the 925 or so patents and patent applications the software giant acquired from AOL earlier this month. Microsoft shelled out more than $1 billion for ownership of or the right to assign some 925 patents and patent applications from AOL, and it will recoup about one-half of that from the social network, which will pay $550 million in cash for approximately... read more>>
Social Dynamx Joins Facebook Customer Care Market
Social Dynamx made its entry into the customer-care sector for Facebook and other social networks today with the debut of its enterprise-class social customer care platform. By now, customer care and social media have become so intertwined with one another than new entrants into the marketplace like Social Dynamx have more competition than we can fit in just one paragraph. But adoption of Facebook customer care software has a way to go, as... read more>>
Pinning Versus Highlighting On Facebook Timeline
We need to revise some of our advice to you about pinning versus highlighting on Facebook timeline pages. Pinned posts can enjoy the most engagement than other all other posts on timeline, simply because of greater visibility. While highlighted posts occupy twice the space, stretching across two columns, the higher placement of the pin makes people notice them first. Pins address some of what consumers' greatest concerns about timeline: the layout can overwhelm... read more>>
Facebook Doubles Its Lobbying Ahead Of IPO
Facebook filed its first quarter lobbying reports with the U.S. Senate today and the numbers indicate that the social site is on pace for another record year, spending $650,000 so far in 2012. That's a hefty price tag, especially since the first quarter figure represents nearly half of what Facebook spent in all of 2011, another banner year for the company's lobbying balance sheet which grew to a hefty $1.35 million. The irony... read more>>
Facebook Initial Public Offer Primer Published
Someone wrote a whole book dedicated to Facebook's initial public offer? That's like asking whether there's a whole blog dedicated to Facebook. Ahem. Well, there's plenty of source material for a book in the more than 100 pages of registration documents the social network filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission at the beginning of February, plus still more paperwork in the form of three amendments, appendices and the pending Instagram acquisition. The... read more>>

What The New Facebook PMD Program Means For Your Brand
This week's Spring Summit at Facebook headquarters brought about the newly structured preferred marketing developers program. But what does it mean for your brand?
